David Johnson

David Johnson brings a well-rounded background to his role as an owner of Tree House Craftsmen. His career in the trades began as a plumber working for his dad during the summers in Washington DC. Plumbing took him all the way to Durango, CO where he started his journey as a carpenter. It is here that he developed a passion for an understanding of how homes function behind the walls. His education in biology from Fort Lewis College further sharpened his problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and systems-based thinking. Having started his homebuilding career in Colorado, David understands the local building environment, climate, and expectations, allowing him to deliver framing work that is both precise and well-adapted to the region.

As a leader and business owner, David is known for leading by example and setting a high standard for professionalism. He values clear communication, thoughtful planning, and teamwork, creating a job-site culture built on respect and efficiency.
